Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) wicket-keeper Sheldon Jackson earned plaudits from cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar for his heroics in the opening game of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 on Saturday.
During the clash against reigning champions Chennai Super Kings Jackson, showed the IPL world what they’ve got in him. The 35-year-old was lightning-fast behind the stumps when he stumped Robin Uthappa, giving KKR an important breakthrough. Uthappa was batting brilliantly, having scored 28 runs off 20 deliveries, before being dismissed.
It all happened in the seventh over of the first innings. The ball delivered by KKR spinner Varun Chakravarthy spun from the middle-stump to far down the leg side. Uthappa, who was already committed for a flick, stepped out of his crease but failed to read the ball, while Jackson removed the bails in a flash to send the CSK batter
back to the dug out.

“That was an outstanding stumping. @ShelJackson27’s speed reminded me of @msdhoni. Lightning fast!!,” tweeted Tendulkar.
