Following the announcement by the Chennai Super Kings that MS Dhoni had resigned as CSK captain and handed over responsibility to Ravindra Jadeja, there were many reactions poured in on social media. The Cricket fraternity recalled the many contributions of Ranchi-based cricketer as the leader of the “Yellow Army”.
Dhoni, which was the most expensive player at the inaugural IPL auction in 2008, was the leader of CSK in all IPL seasons in which the franchise participated. Under his leadership, the CSK recorded 121 victories in 204 matches.
In addition, CSK with Dhoni as captain won the IPL trophy four times – 2010, 2011, 2018 and 2021. Additionally, the Super Kings finished second five times – in 2008, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2019.
Former Indian captain Virat Kohli, also reflected his thoughts terming Dhoni as the legendary captain of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Kohli also tweeted on his official Twitter handle and praised Dhoni for his successful tenure as captain of the CSK.
Not to forget, Kohli, who iidolize Dhoni a lot, shared some memorable moments with the four-time IPL title winning captain. In fact, Kohli and Dhoni always had time to chat before or after IPL games, which has been the fan’s favorite moment of the cash-grab league.

It is noteworthy that IPL 2021 was the last time Kohli and Dhoni wore the league captain’s hat. Kohli left his captain’s post of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) late last season. Ahead of IPL 2022, Faf du Plessis was appointed Kohli’s successor.
